Drugs
are taking over!
There are generally two types of ‘druggie’. The type that like to get absolutely off their faces and rave all night in a club. Then there’s the type that like to get high and ‘mosh’ in a rock club. Ravers like to take drugs such as ecstasy, speed and LSD, in order to able to dance all night to loud hardcore dance music. The other type, known as ‘metal heads’ or ‘skaters’ will do anything and everything. ‘Moshing’ is a form of dance to rock music in a lively and aggressive fashion, where the rockers all huddle close together and jump a lot while head banging. It is young people who are more likely to take drugs, because they are more willing to experiment. No matter how dangerous taking drugs is, they still do it. There are stories every day in every country about youngsters over dosing on drugs, passing out and then dying. People who take drugs are aware of this, but think that it’s never going to happen to them. Of course, these people are not psychic and don’t know what they are likely to do in the future. I heard a story about a girl who did not believe in taking any drug of any kind, because she was scared of what might happen to her. Then on her eighteenth birthday, her friends bought her an ecstasy pill. Not wanting to look like a ‘sissy’ or a ‘wuss’ she took it. Two hours later she was in intensive care having suffered terribly from the effects of ecstasy. She held on for another two hours before passing away in terrible pain. That is just one example of the things that can happen. I’m not dead against people who take drugs, because a lot of my friends take them. Some only like to smoke weed and get giggly with each other, while others have moved on to experiment with other substances. I don’t know a single person who has tried injecting heroine. I don’t really want to either. After seeing the hit movie ‘Trainspotting’ it made me see just how screwed up peoples lives can get while taking heroine. In my eyes it is ok for people to harmlessly experiment with drugs, as long as they are not prepared to try and get me into them. I just am not interested.
