Finally, in Italy,  a good idea!

Beginning from January 2000, in our country, there will be some “Ecology Sundays”, during which only people, bicycles, bus, public transports and electric vehicles can go around  the city.

This is because the pollution rate is too much  high, so we can take the opportunity to leave the car at home on Sunday, exploring other interests, loving nature, playing sports, walking, riding bicycles and being in touch with people.

Another cause is that we want to ameliorate the life-standard and that the petrol is too expensive, so we can respectively breath better air and save money and energy (5-10 millions of litres per every “Ecology Sunday” saved and less carbonic anhydride’s emission).

 

The Municipality offers to the citizens many advantages such as:

-         use of buses all day with only one same ticket;

-         public transports more frequent;

-         museums opened all day;

-         sport competitions;

-         reductions on cinema’s tickets;

-         guided tour around the city, exploring nature;

-         spaces for children;

-         various attractions for people.

 

Public opinion poll

52% of people think that this idea is good against the 8.4% who thinks the opposite. 44.9% of people appreciate the opportunity of riding and walking without the presence of cars; 44% think that the awaerness of the people about the space pollution is positive.

5.5% think that this idea discourage them on going out.

We appreciated a lot the opportunity to meet our friends on the squares and streets  without being disturbed by cars and motorcycles.
