The Blair Witch Project

It is a false reportage about three boys that decided to visit the wood in which the witch of Blair’s story are set up.

This film was at the top of the season two years ago; and it was in America too.This film was produced at low cost and it was cleverly built on a legend which became a true story.

There were disagreements in Italy, more against than pro.But Blair Witch Project was a true glory?

Blair Witch Project doesn't want to be a film, but a documentary. A little bit like "Forgotten Silver" of Peter Jackson. Reconstructed cleverly. False. But documentary. It was a successful operation. It was rebuilt in almost perfect way, a documentary on a circumstance which wasn’t true but that frightened viewers. We here are distant, but after the vision of this film an American or an inhabitant of that State can only be a suffering being.

The three boys filmed their experience what they wanted to show with a digital videocamera, and a camera to 16mm. However, we can say that the digicam is also our eye, or better an eye of one of us in the wood with them; the 16mm is their eye.

The last scene is fantastic, it frightens and anguishes the viewer and you can discuss for hours and hours without finding any agreement.

American Beauty

The film is a winner mixture that combines themes very cleverly as burning as attractive, like the crisis of a couple, the post-adolescence, the sex, the beauty, the loneliness and so much other.

The history is convincing, beautiful, well written and well interpreted by two great actors: the Bening is marvelous, likewise Spacey, also considering that he has been able to "go away" from the character of his first known film. Also the secondary characters are appropriate and well interpreted.

In conclusion, the formula is correct: excellent actors, strong and charming history, attractive characters, fists in the stomach, all in strongly grotesque key and at times straight comic. The result is therefore a "beautiful and perfect" film. It is the film of the year in America, it has won the Golden Globe and it probably will win the Oscar Prize. American Beauty was declared as the cinema event of the year, most authoritative candidate to the final victory. Under the profile purely formal the film results faultless: nothing has left to the case, not even the emotions. The actors are driven with mastery and the whole cast appears perfect for the occasion.

Therefore we can say this film that distinguishes itself from the traditional Hollywood standard for plot and provocation.

The circumstance comes loose alternating melodramas to explosions of vitality, but the everything has reorganized from a disappointing and deprived end of the necessary courage. The last action presents the sequence of the homicide of the protagonist. The mystery comes disclosed in all hurry, the guilty of turn is a thread-Nazi, that the child beats and, also having confusion in subject, he hate the homosexuals.

Mendes offers a last sequence, in which a plastic pouch, circling in the air, giving sweet able words of conduct the individual to the pacification.
