Taxation
Ladies and gentlemen, what would you do with 400 billion pounds? The answer if you are a labour minister is very little. Over the last three and a half years the labour government have promised so much and delivered so very little. Instead of encouraging small businesses and entrepreneurs to blossom from the already flourishing economy, our friends in the government have decided to steeply increase tax on all aspects of British life. A main necessity, which is taxed relentlessly, is petrol. The affects of high fuel prices are not noticed as much by the everyday commuter driving from A to B, but for the haulage firms and farmers the result is disaster. More farmers are becoming bankrupt than ever before, as are haulage firms. I and 60 million other citizens could maybe accept high taxation if the funds rose were being received by honourable schemes. Unfortunately for our country the government’s idea of a honourable, deserving cause is the millennium dome. After half a billion pounds of tax payers money, funds still proceed to poor into the domes bottomless pit. The money is being spent by the governments unelected lackeys whose financial forecasts would have been a joke to any half decent businessman. Other deserving causes would be are majestic monarchy who spent half a million pounds of tax payers money on new cars, I would have thought two private jets, 3 Bentleys, 2 Rolls Royce’s and a horse and carriage is enough for any family. Yes the governments taxation program does fund hospitals better than ever before and yes public transport and education is slowly improving. But what is the price? The damage to small business and other aspects of the British economy cannot yet be calculated because increasing taxation is still creating the severe damage. The lying fact is that this superb nation of ours can run just as efficiently and effectively without the current taxation punishment, which everyone has to endure. A reduction in tax should come and will come with the support and defiance of the hard working citizens of Britain. The economy and people of Britain cannot and should not accept any more increases in business rates, council tax or VAT. The government’s taxation regime is nothing more than legalised theft, and in this country crimes such as theft are stopped and prevented. That is not to say that taxation should be stopped and prevented but a reduction in tax is what the people of Britain should now be striving for. Our government, by not listening to the cries of small business and the general public for a reduction in tax, is beginning to shake the notion that our country is a democracy and flashes of an autocratic system have started to appear in the decisions made by the government.
