The MAFIA is a criminal, clandestine organization. It was born in Sicily in 19 TH century under the "borbonico" government and it was steadying later, in all country (and, with the emigrants, especially in the USA, but in France, too); it exercises the control on many economics activities and on unlawful traffics (for example contracts, astonishings), it involves citizens freedom and the regular development of public functions; it is supporting by conspiracy of silence and it makes use of methods of intimidation. The member of the mafia use unlawfully the power to damage something or somebody in order to achieve their interest , in fact they commit crimes and violence generally for economical reasons. The theme MAFIA is resume by various Italians writers, one of these is Leonardo Sciascia. He died recently but during his "career" of writer, he is commited a lot, to describe aspects and characteristics about this phenomenon. I have had the opportunity to read two of his books: "IL GIORNO DELLA CIVETTA" and "A CIASCUNO IL SUO".Both of them tell about murders that Mafia commited. For a question of "privacy" if we can say that, the writer doesnt quote in the first romance, the names of cities where successions develop. Both books tell about a traditional Mafia which is linked to honour principles and rules. The same writer searched to grow light about abuses of power and tricks completed by power. Whatever in Italy some journalists as Marcel Padovani, He is hold about this theme. In January 1988, He interviewed Giovanni Falcone, a judge that during his career had the privilege to interview a lot of members of the Mafia. In front of them he tried to put away the prejudices, the work was his task. He underlines that Mafia doesnt kill in front of collective organizations. But sometimes Mafia enters inside of the State. The judge died; he was killed in an exchange of shots organized by Mafia. However these fights happen in the south of Italy. But Remember! That it doesnt directly strike the direct person but before they kill friends, relatives or parents to freighten first and than the turn arrives also for the person involved. The books are interesting but to understand better the aims of these organisations we suggest to read: COSE DI COSA NOSTRA written by Marcel Padovani, Cristina Pusceddu, Valentina Giucherini, Silvia Lissi
