Who is Göran Persson?

Göran Persson is the most powerful man in Sweden right now because he is the Prime Minister. He has been Prime Minister since 1996 and we think that he has done a good job. Now he also is the European Unions most powerful man and here you can read some interesting facts about him.

When Göran started as Prime Minister his first goal was to match the Swedish state income and expenditure. His second goal was to half the unemployment. Right now Sweden has a quite good economy and we think most people will say that Göran has succeeded with his two goals, but some people says that he has botched. As the nice and understanding person Göran is his next goal will be to reduce the social injustices in Sweden. This half-year, until the first of July, Göran also is the European Union’s most powerful man because Sweden has the presidency. As the chairman of EU there will be lots of changes that makes his job even more interesting and he has already met important people from all over Europe.

This is bad commercial for England because the same question with Swedish pupils show that almost all of them know who Göran is. These facts made us take the conclusion that Swedish pupils are more clever than English ones?!! Here are the answers that we got from the people!

On the first question we found out that many don’t know so much about him.
But they thought he’s a nice man, smart and clever.
Most of the people we asked were quite sure that he is doing a good job.
They think that the Social Democrats is a quite good party. They ( the Social Democrats )
promise to much but can’t hold their promises. That is one opinion among others.
Many of those who we asked were convinced that he will be a great chairman.
No one guessed his right age. Many thought he is younger than he is!
