Magdalen Forsberg is one of Sweden’s most famous sport profiles. Her sport is biathlon. She has won the worlds cup the last four years and she is in the lead in this year world cup. Biathlon is an Olympic winter game, a combination between freestyle skiing and rifleshooting. The competitor must be a good skier and also a good shooter under high pressure. Biathlon is a game in OS, VM and SM (Swedish mastership) today the competitors compete in five different events. It’s a very public-friendly sport. Magdalena is 34 years old and lives in Bergeforsen outside Sundsvall, which is situated in the middle of Sweden. She was born in Ullånger in Ångermanland not so far from our hometown Örnsköldsvik. Her husband Henrik Forsberg is also a competitor in biathlon, but he is not as good as Magdalena. Perhaps the reason for her successes is that she has sponsors which makes it possible to train on full time. As a 17 year old, she was a skier in the Swedish nationallteam. After several injures she stopped ski and started with biathlon. Her list of qualification is long and admirable.
