At
last it’s official: the king has
returned. Michael Jordan is again a full-time player for
Nba, after having
signed a two year contract with the Washington Wizards. Immediately Mike
gave the whole salary of his first year for the victim of the New York and
Washington attack. No press conference, no clamour, only a little release issued
through the press agency: “I return like a player that loves the basketball
and I’m especially excited to return to play with the Washington Wizard
because I’m convinced that we have the power to be a team that can reach the
playoff”. “ I’m very happy to welcome Jordan in the Nba” has commented the commissioner
Nba David Stern.
And so the biggest all time player will come back to trample on parquet of the Nba. To return to play, Jordan will earn 1,3 millions of dollars (about 1.450.000 euro). His decision hasn’t amazed anybody, considering that his return has been in the air for some days. Since, that is, the tenth of December past Air Mike rallied in Chicago a little party of reporter where he had confirmed his intention to take up to play. But why? “For love of basketball”. More clear than this!
And Jordan
add:” I cannot prevent
the people to think that my return is a madness. However, when, in the
unlucky days, I don’t want to wake up from my bed, will enough to think
to go on”.
Before taking this decision he spent months of uncertainty, voices and denied. A year ago rumors of a his possible return started, when Jordan started to train with the Wizards, officially because when “ he looked himself on the mirror and he saw the classic paunch of the half age”. Once he lost his too many kilos, Jordan went on going to the gymnasium with the team and seeing that the “hand” was still there, decided that he could play again. It was the end of April and the whispers became almost a shout. Especially when AirMike invited a big group of player of Nba at the Hoops Gym in Chicago for a series of training games. But at one player slipped out that “ sometimes Michael Jordan’s game seem really rubbish”. Then the first doubt started, confirmed the fourteenth of June when in a contrast Jordan broke three ribs. He couldn’t play for six to eight weeks and his return was considered impossible. Jordan however burnt the stages and the fifteenth of July was again on court. Since then his training became more and more hard and he got a constant improvement of the physical condition until at the announcement of his return.
Whoever
had had many doubts on the Jordan’s return it is better for him to look the
friend-game played by Washington versus
New Jersey where Air Mike scored 41
points and he made the first slam of his third Nba career. The Jordan’s box
score shows 33 minutes played with 15/24 at throw of court
and 9/11 at free throw. Those what the statistics have trouble to
describe is his role: In 5 minutes in the second period the Wizard from –18
are reenter in game to –2. Michael Jordan has contributed in the recover with
16 points, on 20 of the team, with 4/4 of two, 2/2 of three and one assist. So
Washington succeeded in winnig. But
did Washington Wizards win or
Michael Jordan won?
This is a problem for Washington: the support of the team’s companion. In fact, in the friend-game played by Washington versus Miami Heat, when Jordan went to rest on the bench in the middle of the third quarter, the disadvantage for the Wizards from 4 point has passed to 17!! Jordan tried to bring back the Wizards in game but with scarce result. So Miami won.
It is sure:
even if Jordan returned the one he
was long time ago, he cannot do everything alone and now his companion aren’t
able to help him for their slightness technique.
Please
call Michael Jordan like want you but AirMike has returned and has returned as
old beautiful times. Now all the basketball’s fans looked forward to the
thirtieth of October where Washington debuted in the Nba Championship in New
York at Madison Square Garden versus
the Knicks and finally Michael Jordan came
back and showed on all the Americans parquet. Now we can bet it will be a great, super...show…
