The new year's day on the snow

Generally in this period a lot of boys start thinking of which will be, according our judgement, the most beautiful holiday of the year: the New Year’s Day.

A lot of people are going to spend it at the disco, someone else at a restaurant, other at the hot-exotic places….. but we, two good traditionalists, we’d like to spend it in the mountain: cold weather, a lot of snow and ski….

One of the most famous and beautiful resort is Cortina d’Ampezzo; at 1124m. is the most important centre in the Dolomiti, in the ample Valley D’Ampezzo, surrounded by mountains with peak over 3000 mt. and with a lot of skilifts. There are also many discos, pubs, billiard rooms and more other amusements.

Really the ski slope renders it between the longed-for resorts on the Alpi and gives it an international value; enface in the Christmas period some thousand of tourist crowd the 160 km. of paths which attract the beginners as snow expert.

The equipments offer the possibility to enjoy the cross-country ski (30 paths), snowboard, also, thanks to the cableway of the "Tofana" people can reach peak of about 3200 mt. from where you can have the pleasure to see ones in the best alpine’s panoramic and you can eat, in the refuges , a lot of specialities for example the "polenta" with the roe and the very good Cortina’s strudel.

All that could seem impossible for the finances of a student like us, but really that isn’t so: if you don’t want to spend a lot, you can reserve in a normal 3 stars hotel, for example the hotel Corona that, from 28/12 to 02/01 for a triple room with half board and the access to the swimming pool, give an offer of €. 80 a day.

For people that haven’t any financial problems we suggest the Cristal Hotel that has the gym, the massage centre, two swimming pools, sauna and Turkish bath. It is generally frequented by V.I.P and stars from all the world and for the same period it costs only €. 250 a day! Quite expensive for us !!!!!!
