Have Fun in Örnsköldsvik
Even though Örnsköldsvik is a small town in the north of Sweden
it has a lot of nice camping and picnic sites to offer. In this article
you can read about three tourist attractions that we think you should
visit if you come to Örnsköldsvik in Sweden. The first is
a camping site called "Djupsjö camping" which is a perfect place
to stay at for families with small children, the second choice is an
illustrated iron age village called "Gene Fornby", where the actors
act like humans from that time. At last we are going to mention our
big big public baths "Paradisbadet", where you can swim and have fun....
Djupsjö camping
Djupsjö camping was founded about eleven years ago. The owner Stig
Sångberg worked with the camping spot for five years before he opened
it. The camping has been open for six years now. It is a family company
because Stig´s wife and their two daughters also work there and so they
have done for eleven years. Two years ago they got a brilliant idea.
That was to open a restaurant , called "Stig Inn". The reason why he
chose to call the restaurant Stig Inn was because his first name is
Stig and Inn means restaurant in English. Stig Inn is a play on words
in Swedish, which translated to English would be "come in, please".
His daughters are in charge of the restaurant. One of them, Eva-Marie,
is the chef, and the other, Anna-Karin, is a waitress. They decided
to be open six days a week for the entire summer. Stig Inn had about
1000 guests during two months. This was quite successful for them. Some
of the activities are; flying an aeroplane with Stig, playing boule,
playing with the animals, throwing axe and shooting archery and air-gun
. At midsummer they dance around the maypole and the children love to
be with the horses. The grownups usually sit by the bar and have a beer.
There are six cabins and 40 spots were you can put your tent or trailer.
So please come and visit Djupsjö Camping.
Gene fornby
Experience the magic and the mysteries of your origins at Gene fornby.
1500 years ago, the air was cleaner, game more abundant and ecological
farming and recycling were a natural part of life. When you arrive to
Gene fornby the people who work there take good care of you. There you
have plenty of things to do for a whole day. You can for example make
bread like they did and practise archery and take a look in the houses
they had that time. You can also take a seat and look at a play. There
are actors who act like humans from that time. So Gene fornby is a very
nice place to visit if you are curious to experience a new but still
old place in time. They have a nice museum too.
Paradisbadet
| Here in Örnsköldsvik we have a very big public baths.
The visitors are both children and adults. People from other towns
also come to visit our bathhouse that has Sweden’s longest water-chute,
100 meters long. There is an outside pool too, with pouring bubbling
water. It’s open both summer and winter, when it’s snowing and -20°
outside the water in the pool is still 30°anyway. |

For the small children there is a place called "The
little south ocean". The children love that place. Inside there
are three whirl pools and there is a relaxplace with saunas and
a warm big pool where you can have aquarobics. A nice gym is there
too, and a solarium.
When you need to relax and have fun Paradisbadet is the right place
for you. |
