LORD OF THE RINGS

Why is Lord of the rings such a great, big and famous story?
How can a 50 year old story survive true generations and still suprise use?
We are going to try to explain that with our own experience and with some help from people around the web.

The greatness in the story lies in the depth and it’s more trustful than something else. Maybe because the whole story is so totally in in its world. Everything is right in the last detail. The often lean on old legends, and that makes a sense of a very big depth in the story.

Tolkien´s story is a treasure with a depth in the surroundings, the stories, the histories and the many fantastic creatures. And all this together makes Lord of the rings to one of the best writings ever done.

Women’s part in the Story

The women in the books don’t have any dependable part in the hole story.No one in the fellowship are women. We only knew 4 characters in the books that are women!
And what doe’s those 4 women’s do? They are soft and kind The men are Kind to but the women are it in another way they are the ones that are the healers and the ones that take care It’s only 1 woman in the books that is fighting I think he made the women powerful in a beautiful way. And the parts in the books were women are is very little. The men in the books are those who fight and the ones that the books depends on they do bravery and do great things The men are the heroes in the books.
The books are written in the 50s so it’s not so strange because in that time women were not in the same role in the society.

Nature

The Nature is very important for Tolkien I think. He writes much about. It can be boring sometimes when he explained the surroundings. But without the explanations its not Lord Of the rings.
Specially Mordor is very good detailed so you can almost fell you are there.
Tolkien also did Maps of Midgard and also a Language for the Elves and that another thing that’s makes you feel the story so very close.

Characters

I don’t know what he hade done but the characters in the books are so very well described and so very well told so you can almost touch them.
You have all sorts of characters in the book Everything from big heroes to strange creatures and the Nazguls The Orches in the books are very good. They represent the real and pure evil They are dirty, ugly and blood thirsty but stupid and and without any lack of discipline.
The Elves are the counter part to the orch: beautiful good and heroic.
He hade done a real great job with all the characters without the fantastic creatures the Story haven’t been so great.

Investigation

We asked 50 people down town if they had seen the movie or read the books 40 people had seen the movie 34 people thought it was good.
But only 17 people had read the books.
We think that is because the books are so big and maybe little bit boring for some people to read. But if you have read about 100 pages you don’t want to stop.

The story is the first real fantasy story and the best one. Many writers have copied Tolkien´s story but no one hade done any better. Tolkien is the best writers of all times!

The Movie

Something about the first movie then. The Fellowship of the Ring.
I think it’s great no big mistake in it.
But something bad is that they haven’t included Tom Bombadill and they have also not included small things all the time. And the thing that we don’t like is that we have to wait so very long for the next two!
But it’s still the best movie we have seen!

This is what we think and alot people around the world. But we are right aren’t we?
