Italy, as Bulgaria, is a parliamentary republic contrarily to the United Kingdom and Sweden that are constitutional monarchy.

Italy has become a republic after the Second World War when the latest King of Italy has had to leave, his country, with his family.

The more ancient history tells us when the Savoia family, in 1861, extended its estates from Piedmont and Sardinia to all national territory with the proclamation of the Reign of Italy, becoming so the royal Italian family. Roma became the capital city of the State in 1870.

This was possible thank to the  work of head of government: Count Benso of Cavour.

The more recent history tells us the behaviour of the sovereign in the Second World War, Vittorio Emanuele III that permitted the ascent to power of Fascism and, at the same way, he couldn’t oppose when he perceived that the assumed power from Mussolini had been too strong.

The nazi-fascist dictatorship was interrupted by American intervention that contributed to free our country from oppressive tyranny of Benito Mussolini.

The allied forces disembarked in the South of Italy and soon they freed it and this permitted that the King and his family to leave Rome and he could shelter in a safer place.

After the war the Italian people was called, with a referendum, to choose between republic and monarchy, and the Italians decided to change form of government choosing the republic.

Then, after this result, the Savoia family has been compelled exile and the prohibition to return, to our country, for male descending. This principle is expressed in Italian Constitution.

Recently the Italian Parliament, after a long procedure, has changed the Constitution permitting the return in Italy of male descending.

Vittorio Emanuele IV, his wife Marina Doria and their son Emanuele Filiberto have been lived till now in Geneva.

They could see their country on the television only.

But they can enter again freely and they already have done it, visiting Naples. It is the native city of Vittorio Emanuele IV.

We think it is right that the Savoia family can enter again and visit the country.

It would be   useless to continue with the exile, because, surely, the male heirs don’t prove to restore the monarchy-

Now the Republic is “strong” and besides Vittorio Emanuele and Emanuele Filiberto have sworn fidelity on Italian Constitution.

And what do you think?

If in your country the royal family were exiled, after fifty years, would you like that they came back again?
