It all began in 1991, the young lads Dani, Adrian, Paul, Martin, Gian, Lecter, Nicolas, Robin and an opera singer ”Sarah Jezebel the Deva” knew they had started something dark, something evil, something out of this world. They didn't disappoint with the release of their debut album ”The Principle of Evil Made Flesh” in 1994. The music title is gothic, erotic vampyric Black Metal. The music videos are like a whole horror movie. Cradle Of Filth has produced albums of ever increasing quality. Soaring, sonic masterpieces that envelop you and take you away into the darkest depths of the collective Cradle mind. A dreamlike place full of legend, myths and Vampyres. The next release ”Vempire” not Vampire because they never wanted to use this kind of holy word. This album requires lot of raging, bloody and horror scream that had never been heard before in the history of music.
Music For Nations signed Cradle Of Filth immediately, showing off their new signing at London venue The
Astoria, where the band played a blood pounding song ”Dusk and Her Embrace. The start of a great relationship
had begun and the music on the new album 'Dusk and her Embrace' was again unique to Cradle Of Filth.
However, at the same time it was different, very different. There was better production, better artwork, and most
importantly, better songs. Material that the band deemed. With a guest appearance by 'Mr Black Metal' himself,
Cronos from the influential 80's band Venom, this was believed to be their best ever work, but the best was yet to
come. In an interview with the singer Dani Filth the interviewer asked if they are Satanists, Dani said: No we aren’t, it's just our image…we are Vampires and started to laugh.
