Hello My name is Nicole Kelly and I’m 17 years old. I spend my free time baking, eating my baking, buying shoes, writing awful poems, picking flowers, collecting old records and taking pictures of interesting places I visit. On a rare spare day I might jump on the train with my friends and get lost discovering a new place. Reading on public transport is another way I like to relax, especially clever literature like Wilde and Shakespeare, so I look intelligent on the bus even though I’m really not. I also have a Saturday job at Starbucks that I really enjoy; I get paid for having fun, and meeting new people. The sense of independence that earning your own money gives is brilliant. At the moment I am studying biology, psychology and English literature A levels Everything has got a lot more grown up and serious lately regarding school and my studying. Things are getting daunting because next year is the start of the rest of my life. But on the other hand I’m immensely excited; starting university is going to be an adventure! I always try to seize new opportunities coming my way. I’ve decided to take part in Freeway, as having my own articles published seems to be too much of a good opportunity to miss. Freeway is a fantastic challenge whilst learning more about other people and cultures. Practicing my writing will also prepare me for university as English is the subject that I am planning to study next year.
