Every society in existence today has its own drugs. People have given almost as many reasons for using drugs, as there are the drugs themselves. Today in the twenty-first century, drugs are everywhere. Cups of coffee, alcohol and prescribed medication are just some of the legal kinds. Cannabis, LSD, ecstasy, heroin, cocaine and so on, some of the illegal types. The less obvious 'drugs' may include computers, our work, shopping or sex. Drug taking is something we enjoy doing, or at least, we did at first.
As you can see there are plenty different kinds of drugs but we will focus only on the illegal types. We will talk mainly about marijuana and the effect it has on people. First of all I want to warn you that you cannot find any of this articles in the nearest supermarket so you should not try to buy them from such a place. But before start talking about the different kinds of drugs I think it would be better to go over the reasons that make people taking drugs. The most common motive that makes people try any opiate is their curiosity. It's human nature to want to experiment. Trying things out helps you decide if they are right for you or not. Unfortunately not all people start taking drugs because they want to but because of the influence of their friends. When everyone around you use drugs it is difficult to stay clean because no one wants to be the only one not participating. In such situations it is very hard to make the right decision especially for the young people who find others’ opinion about them from ? great importance. Teenagers are afraid that they may look like losers in the eyes of their friends and often start things for which regret later. Another typical reason, which makes especially young people take opiates, is that they want to look grown-up. In my view this is the weirdest motive someone can have but after all it depends on the person. Sometimes people turn to drugs not so much for themselves, but to make a statement against someone else, like their families or society in general. Somehow taking drugs makes them outlaws, or, like, more individuals or something. The next motive for taking drugs is our everyday life. There are people who are so tired and bored of their daily routine that they will do whatever it is in order to have some fun. And if we have to be honest there is no doubt that drugs give people a lot of fun but the problem is whether the cost we pay for this is worthy. But it seems that there are people who think so and in their view taking drugs have a lot of positive effects on them. For example "Ecstasy is one of the nicest things I have ever tried. I know it is a positive force." Said one user. "You can form great friendships with someone you never met before."Said another. And another one: "It feels great. The best feeling I've ever had in my life. Better than sex, better than anything. This is the only time I feel warm, safe and in control." But mentioning sex I have to say that some people use drugs especially in order to have better sex. In their view combining sex and drugs is the best thing could happen to a person. As a matter of fact people have used different kinds of stimulants when having sex for ages. In the ancient Roman Empire for example people have increased the pleasure of sex with the help of the alcohol. Nowadays there are so many new stimulants and drugs are one of them. The opiates give users the chance to feel the pleasure of sex in a bigger extent. In fact drugs heighten our sensitivity and that makes the experience so amazing and unbelievable. Now when we have already seen what the most reasons for taking drugs are I think I should introduce you some of the different kinds of opiates such as marihuana,for example. Marihuana also known in the street as Hash, blow, pot, grass, spliff, weed, Mary Jane, skunk, gandja and so on is the most widely used opiate. Only in the UK four million of people have said that they use it in their free time. Marijuana is a green, brown or gray mixture of dried, shredded leaves, stems, seeds and flowers of the hemp plant Cannabis sativa. It is usually smoked as a spliff or through a pipe called bong. Marihuana it can also be eaten, usually in a cake or brewed in tea. This opiate heightens the senses, so experiences – for example visual, aural and tactile ones – become intensified. Listening to music can become more pleasurable for instance. Users often become more sociable, chatty or creative and they are giggling.
