Football Vandalism

Some of the reasons for the football vandalism may be considered as universal for everyone, everywhere. However, in the recent years in Bulgaria the problem with the vandals at the stadiums is getting harder. That’s why the government and the sport organizations are taking more serious measures.

Firsts of all, most of the football hooligans are not real fans of this sport. On one hand, they do not practice it and they cannot feel the spirit of the game. As a result, not only their passion is not for the football, but they do not release from the stress in a healthy and proper way. On the other hand, when the vandals attend football matches they are in big groups, which makes them fell secured and comfortable, and drink alcohol, which makes them aggressive. Therefore, if the hooligans cannot find satisfaction watching the game, which is not a rare phenomenon, they search for way to use their ‘power’. So, the football stops being entertainment for them and the stadium becomes an arena for pouring their energy. Moreover, the vandalism becomes their real entertainment and the next time they go to watch the game, they will be with the conscious that the final part of the ‘party’ will repeat.

The precautions taken by the Bulgarian government are few but they will decrease the vandalism drastically.

Fines are quite high for all kinds of disorders due to the fans. People will also be arrested if more serious offences are done. Video materials will be considered for evidence in the court. Another measure is the files which will be created for problematic fans and they will not be allowed to matches any more. Also owners of stadiums will be fined in case they don’t provide the needed security.

We hope that anyhow people will pay more attention to the sport itself and will go to matches in order to have fun and pleasure and punishments not to be needed.
