THE MEANING OF TATOO

The tatoo isn’t a uncouth’s sign; but often – even if today this theory grow weaker – the tatoo is the simbol of " badlife" and this has been favorite by tha Tatoo’s state, the state of the place when people went to tatoos themselves: often filthy, yunrespected of the igenic rules, with great possibility of infections. Today, instead, the igenic rules are more respected than yesterday, thanks to the control of Health Authority, and so the risk of infections is nearly anulle.

But what is the tatoo? A vegetable ink injected indelibly in the skin, but this isn’t what I want say. The tatoo is a simile, an important memory whith a particolar meaning of the "Why" the people do this " hazardous " gesture.

I can say only for me: the reasons that had carried away me in front of a Tatoo are casuals: walking in a street of my city I have found this particolar market, with picture of tatoo in the shop-window and particular drawings. That place fascinate me, that air of mistery, those pictures of misterious simbolisme on the wall. Over the glass…

In that time, I was a prey of doubt: I had an ideal – I have an ideal – recently of that time, in the true way, and I had afraid that, when I’ll be full of duties of the word of business, I hang the risk not to remember it. For this I was searching a way to remember forever this ideal. And here is the solution! I tatooed this ideal on my skin, a indeliby sign, a memory forever in front of my eyes, ‘ain’t running the risk of unmemory. But now, there was a new problem: how? What kind tatoo ? My first idea was a dragon, but when I read some book to find the right picture, I saw, in an angle of the paper, a little animal, hidden. That was the one I was looking for! That is on my left shoulder: un Unicorn, sign of liberty (not the utopian liberty often in the mind of people! ) and of nothing compulsory bond.

Sure, it was the case that decided my choice, but the tatoo is in every way a sign, not a whim or a fashionable object, and for this that I hate the people who says that it is a "thing of unchouths and coarses".
