Racism
During the past years have violent crimes against different groups in our world increased. The vulnerable groups are immigrants, dark-skinned and homosexuals. Those who commit these crimes are often regular people who have affiliated to a misanthropic ideology and call themselves racists. Their ideology is based on the facts that their own race, the white race is the superior and that the strong survive the weak.
Before I begin I just want to explain the conception of racism, Nazism and xenophobia. All three of these conceptions stand for almost the same thing. But at the same time they are completely different.
Racism: People who are racists think that the white race is the superior race and that people from different races should live apart. Some racists even think that they have the right to dominate, exploit and even destroy inferior races..
Nazism: You are often a nationalist, if you are Nazi, and you talk about your native country and (in my case) Swedish traditions. A Nazi wants to draw borders for every race that they should keep inside. They hold weakness in comtempt, especially visual genetic weaknesses. Handicap, mental illness, homosexuality, physique and skin colour. Everything that diverge from ”normal” is considered to be a weakness.
Xenophobia: Different cultures should live apart and one culture could be more sophisticated than others. Repudiation is based on cultural reasons, not physical.
Now when we have clarified the concepts we can go on. I want you to know a little more about racism in real life, not just racism on the streets or against a person. I want you to know about racism towards an entire country.
Kongo – a country that was a colony during a long time.
Belgium came to Kongo and started to determine in the community. Soon the whole of Kongo was a colony ruled by Belgium. From the start Kongo seemed to be a rich country, but the inhabitants were under hard pressure. The government consisted of Belgian ministers and they got all the benefits. Sometimes a Belgian salary could be up to 300 times more than the inhabitants salary.
The inhabitants of Kongo wanted to have their independence back and they fought for it. They were constantly pushed down through bad jobs and rotten living conditions. They weren't allowed to find a new party or join the union, so they couldn't uphold their rights whitin the community.
Some even say that colonization itself favoured the development of racist ideas.
Still, the inhabitants of Kongo revolted and got their freedom back.'
The end
During the colonial liberation prior oppressed ethnic groups had an option to fight racism through among other things the UN.
To not like or shut out people because of their race, colour of the skin, ethnic belonging or homosexual disposition is UNACCEPTABLE. Let racists talk about their disgusting messages, so that everyone understands what a threat they are to all of us.
