Each year on 5^th October we celebrate the day of Stara Zagora. This year was special. 125 years ago on 5^th October the first stone of restoring the city was put. That was after the city was burnt down in the Russian-Turkish war. Since then this date have become occasion for celebrating.

On this 5^th October the whole city transformed completely. There were people everywhere on the streets. Decorations and balloons could be seen on the trees and on the streets. The whole centre of the city acquired an amazing atmosphere. A lot of entertainment could be seen on the streets. For example there was a group of American Indians who performed music and they were quite an attraction.

On this day happened a lot of important events. There was a charity concert in front of the city whole. Also there was ? presentation at the gallery with the presence of famous and important people.

One of the traditions of our city is that each year on this day a young mayor is chosen between students representing different schools. This is not some kind of entertainment, but it has a great importance in our society. The young mayor and a few more young people gather in a institution called Youth Communal Council(YCC) which represent the opinion of the young people in Stara Zagora. YCC is responsible of solving different problems of the youth.
