Nowadays computers have entered our daily routine and hardly is there anyone who could deny that they are of great convenience for human beings.For some people they are not merely a convenience but a necessity,because they help us a lot,making our life easier.
Nevertheless computers sometimes can be treated as enemies of people,having in mind isolation between people,eye-diseases,caused by staying whole day long in front of the monitor,violence which children get used to ,playing inappropriate games.
Most people might be tempted to think that these problems are caused by the computer itself but in my opinion the misuse of it should be taken into consideration.Anyway," the information age" seems to have reached its maturity with the appearance of the Internet,at the same time you can store the necessary information in a database.Besides,you are able to use the computer for entertainment,as well.
To begin with,Internet is a rich source of whatever information you are interested in,in addition it is the perfect means for communication and it makes it possible to enjoy yourself with virtual reality.You can learn the current news,the newest scientists' inventions and everything which is happening worldwide.
To illustrate this I can mention that big companies use Internet to become aware of the current events,prices and changes in the world market.Furthermore they can fulfil business contacts through Internet,using the e-mail.It is the best way for sending and receiving letters from all over the world,because it is cheaper and it takes up seconds.
Thus you save time,as well as money. Undoubtedly,computers offer quicker and more ingenious means of picking up and structuring information.Word processors make it easier to write letters and reports as well as to do work from school or home.Making files to save our work is very useful and convenient on one hand and on the other it help us to become more organised and responsible.Nowadays we take advantage of everything stored in the computer.
As it is generally known,many books are available on CD-ROM and needless to say,virtual reality makes learning and reading more exciting.Computers contribute to consider facts and statistics easily,because we are able to study graphics,tables,pictures.The usage of computers for our office-work is really essential,because visual perception is the best way to remember the important information. Yet,another convenient side of the computer is the opportunity to enjoy yourself,simply sitting in front of the monitor.It is much more easier for parents to let their children play computer games than caring for them all the time.Except for fun,games have advantages as well.
Strategic games, for instance,stimulate your thinking and fast reaction in extraordinary situations. Therefore they can be considered as helpful.Computers can also be used for listening to music as you are able to download from the Internet your favourite sings.Come to think of it computers have another powerful advantage in terms of entertainment,because you can watch the latest films which have not appeared on a video-cassette yet just using a disc. To sum up,I could say that modern technology takes a special role in turning the world into a global village where everyone is able to become acquainted with absolutely everything they are interested in.Still we should keep in mind that materialistic things and computers in particular are something transient in time.So we should maintain our human relationship and enjoy life to the fullest with or without the help of electronic devices.
