Lombardy is the richest region of Italy from the culture and the economy.

In Lombardy agriculture and breeding are not the most important resources but production and industries are among the highest on the whole Country.

Milan is the first commercial centre of Italy with a high concentration of bank, of insurances, businesses, but also of tourist services.

The tourist activity, in fact, is more important: the alpine tourism on the Alps, the tourist of art in the cities like Pavia, Mantova, Bergamo, and the tourism on the lakes Lake Maggiore, Lake of Garda along with the thermal tourism as the baths in Sirmione.

But however the wealth isn’t distributed in a homogenous way in fact many people live in a condition of poverty and they are concentrated particularly in the suburb areas of the city.

Besides Lombardy is the destination of a great number of immigrants in search of a better life.
