(BACK TO THE PAST)

In the 90s a group of boys form the Marilyn Manson (from Marilyn Monroe and Charles Manson) inspired by the speed-metal and the glam of Florida.

In 1986 a boy called Maurizio (alias Molella) starts his career as deejay on Radio Deejay and continues working in collaboration with Jovanotti in 1987.

But what can these different artists have in common?

It’s easy!!! The past. Actually the two artists became famous seeking inspiration of the biggest successes of the past.

In 1994 Manson published his first album “Portrait of an American family” inspired by the song of Alice Cooper and the 60s; Molella was inspired of 60s in 2003 with the album “Baby” and in  2004 with the remix of Lucio Battisti’s “Con il nastro rosa”.

In 2003 Molella mixed “Ma il cielo č sempre pių blu” of Rino Gaetano, singer-songwriter of the 70s; Manson was inspired of David Bowie in 1998 with the album “Mechanical animals” and in 2000 published “Holy Wood” an album where is cited the life of John Lennon and of John Kennedy, figures of 70’s.

Manson is the biggest remaker of the world, actually in 1995 he became famous with “Sweet dreams” a cover of Euritmics; in 2001 he published the single “Tainted love” a cover of Soft cell and finally in 2004 he published “Lest we forget”, a collection of successes including “Personal Jesus”, a cover of Depeche mode; these three songs were all refrains of 80’s.

In the years 2001, 2002 and 2004 Molella mixed some songs of Vasco Rossi, a rockstar that became famous in the 80’s.

In 2003 Marilyn Manson published “The golden age of grotesque”, an album where Manson took his cue from the tricks and the cabaret of 30’s.

Maybe their next albums will be inspired by the stone age!!! Have you ever heard about them?
