School Dances

Here in Italy, school dances are not too widespread as in England or in the U.S.

In this occasion every girl becomes enthusiastic over the preparations for the party: going out with her friends looking for the right dress to exalt the best of herself and, moreover, before all that, there is the anxiety for the expectation of the invitation, hoping that the most sought-after boy notices her.

The idea that we have of a school dance is the following:

The escort invites the girl that he has chosen and gives her a bracelet with some flowers applied on it as a symbol for the engagement taken with her.

We have the example watching American serials such as "DAWSON’S CREEK" or other films.

In our school there is not a real school dance, but around the end of the school year we organize a party in a discotec.

But it can never give the same emotion as the "fable" that the American and English girls live.

The fact is we would like that at least once in our life we had the opportunity to live this dream. Don’t you believe?
