Energy has always been the most important factor for human development.
However during the last decades several problems occurred related to this issue.
One of them is that current energy sources do much harm to the environment and endanger our future existence.
Another one is that the resources that we use now are not limitless and soon they will be deprived.
That means that humans have to think of other sources to use in the following years in order to ensure
its prosperity.
There are two main alternative sources of energy – the sun and wind.
Solar energy can solve all the problems of humanity regarding energy. First of all it is absolutely costless.
That means that we can use as much as we can without having to pay for it.
Another important fact about it is that it is practically limitless.
So once we learn how to use it we do not have to look for another source of energy.
And last but not least it does not harm the environment which means that most of the
problems considering this issue will be solved. However technology is still not advanced
enough to gain the full capacity of energy that solar rays carry. But there is no doubt
that soon that will not be a problem and we will draw all the benefits from it.
The other very useful method for gaining additional energy is by using wind as a driving force.
This source of energy has the same advantages like the solar one: it is costless,
it is limitless and it does not harm the environment.
What is more, scientists have studied the essence of this alternative source of energy
more deeply and now we can experience its fruits.
For example there are many of the so called wind mill farms (the biggest ones in Texas and Nevada )
which produce a large amount of energy and satisfy the needs of the population there.
But these are not the only alternative energy sources.
Recent researches show that Earth’s thermal energy, water and biomass can be very powerful ways of gaining energy.
However studies over these issues are still in the beginning and it lies ahead to understand whether we can use
them or not.
Focusing on the sources of energy that we use here in Bulgaria we should say that we are still strongly
dependant on the conservative ones. But a hopeful prospect is the built of a wind mill farm near Bourgas..
Also many people use solar cells to transform sun rays into electrical and thermal energy.
And although we are still in the beginning there is no doubt that these innovations will enter our
lives sooner or later.
