Life Is A Journey

Some people say that it is not important how much time you have breathed but how many times you have held your breath. I agree with that.

Many of us live their lives with no senses to perceive the real world and to admire it. We all have our good marks at school, computer games in the virtual reality of our PCs and hundreds of dreams for fortune and success. However, this is not happiness! It puts us in a perfect illusion, deceiving us that everything is going right. Well, it is not. Can you compare your success at school or at work to the gentle smile of someone you love? Can you compare it to the special moments of pleasure when you are close to your friends and share their problems and happiness? The truth is that thoughts and emotions are not comparable. The first helps us survive in the modern world we live in, but the second is what causes our real and complete happiness. We meet different people, see beautiful things and fall in love all the time. It would be pity if we miss all these times of magic by closing our eyes and keep on following blindly our material ambitions and goals.

That is why balance is the only way for young people to be successful, working hard and still living their lives happily. You certainly know at least one teenager sitting at his or her desk all the time studying something that she/he has already learned by heart. Now try to think of that young people who hang around with their gang of smokers and drinkers and who have completely forgotten their dreams and ambitions. To which type would you prefer to belong? Actually, neither option seems attractive. So, all we need is to learn how to create ballance in our lives, combining reasonably the fun we need with the work it takes to be successful.

All in all, life is a highway with no final destination and if we want to have fun while traveling, sometimes we just have to stop and enjoy the scenery. But not always.
