Immigration
The immigration is a serious issue for Italy. In fact, every years thousand of immigrants come in our country and the majority of them are irregular.
They come from countries as Albania, Romania, Ukraine, Tunisia and China.
The phenomenon of the immigration is caused by several factors as wars, military dictatorships and great poverty.
In fact, many countries of the south of the world have military dictatorships or regimes that remain to the power through the hardest repression. Other countries have a great poverty that doesnt permit to people to live a dignified life. So these people see Italy as a rich country adapts to start a new life and to offer a better future for their children.
The immigrants are willing to do a voyage by sea often in very bad conditions because of which they can also lose their life. In fact, they travel for some days in ships without eating and drinking and without using hygienic services. Moreover, these hope- voyages have a price very expensive that immigrants are willing to pay to have a good life. It happens sometimes young girls come to Italy with the hope to have a better future, but after all they are exploited. In fact, they are forced to prostitute themselves by bad people and they must face a different life respect to their expectations. Nevertheless we must also analyse the positive immigrants cases that come to Italy and they succeed in trying a work to keep themselves.
These people accept jobs that the Italians refuse because they consider them little prestigious. In fact, they practise works as wet nurses, brick-layers, charwomen and waiters. The salary which they receive, part it used to keep themselves abroad and part is sent to their families that live in the countries of the origins. But there are some immigrants that come to Italy to practise illegal works; in fact they steal, push drug and encourage the prostitution.
We think the immigration is a positive phenomenon when it is regular and the immigrants want to improve their life legally. Moreover, it is interesting to know different cultures and traditions to broaden own horizons.
