Swedish Export
Believe it or not but Sweden is the third biggest country after
USA and Great Britain to export music to other countries.
Not so long ago Sweden sent a few bands and artists on a tour
to USA. They did this to make our music export bigger and promote
it. On the tour they perform in Austin, Texas and a few clubs.
The biggest export ever in Sweden is the band ABBA, a quite
old band but they sold many records. Sweden is mostly known
for all the pop music we make.
When we got a big export the Swedish government introduced a
price for the most successful music exporter in Sweden.
When it started
It can be quite hard to know exact how big our export in Sweden
is and when it really started. All they know is that an opera
singer named Jenny Lind, she exported music and before Jenny
Lind is not any music export found, what they know it began
with her.
The last 25 years have really been a success for the music
export in Sweden. And for the last years the exports have grown
for 15% every year.
We can only see the music export overall, we don’t know
an exact way to measure the export, but it can be measured to
some extent, by looking at the figures from the total incomes.
