Wear a condom or be screwed
Are you ready to give up your life? Well, imagine that you
are at a party with your best friends. Your plans for the
evening is to have really fun and just forget the homework
that is waiting home at your desk. After some drinks your
party temper is high. On your way across the floor you
see this good-looking guy, and he walks straight to you.
After the party you and your new-found good-looking
guy is walking hand in hand together trough the city.
Home at his place the question comes,
-Do you have a condom? No.
Some years later you live with AIDS, just because
you decided not to use a condom this stupid night
.

In just some seconds your life can change to something bad. Your plans for the future can be destroyed and maybe your dreams never can become true, just because you skip to use a condom and take the chance. A life with AIDS or HIV is nothing people dream about. To never get children of your own and maybe not live a normal long life together with the ones you love. To live and know that you can have destroyed somebody else´s life too. So why not wear a condom if you are not with a permanent partner when it can save your life? And if you some time “forget” the condom, it´s very important that you test yourself to sexually transmitted diseases. And before you take the step and skip the condom with your permanent partner, it´s always good if you both are tested.

From the beginning
25 years ago, in 1981, young homosexual men and drug addicts started to die in the USA of strange immune caused infections. The following 18 months different articles were publish and they described in which way the supposed infectious matter spread: through blood and sexual contact. In 1984 they found a virus at the persons with AIDS: HIV was discovered. Now, 25 years later, we have more than twenty medicines against HIV. But you can never be free from AIDS. AIDS is a shortening of “Acquired immune deficiency syndrome ” and HIV of “Human immunodeficiency virus”.

What is HIV and AIDS?
HIV is a virus and AIDS is a state of ill-health that is cause by HIV. So to be carrier of HIV is not the same as if you have AIDS. To be HIV positive means that you have a present viral infection that in most cases takes a long time and makes a big damage on your body. But to be infected by HIV doesn’t mean that you feel sick. Important to know is that you can have an HIV infection even if you don’t feel sick. The infection transfers when you have sexual contact without condom, pregnant, childbirth, breast-feeding, and when drug addicts shares syringe. When you get infected by HIV destroys cells in your body and they are very important for our immune defence. AIDS shortens your life and you can get very ill in different ways.

To live with aids
When you get the answer from the test that you have HIV or AIDS, you have the guilt to tell every one you have had sexual contact with the last years. Just to do that thing, call them and tell them, -Hi, I have HIV and I have maybe infected you too. That must be so awkward and horrible. So, do you want to change your life style for ever? Do you want to take the chance and maybe get stuck with this for ever, not having the chance to do the things you have planned? No, I don’t think so.
