| How do we apprehend different people? Why do we apprehend different people just that different? The relations that we create to people are affected by the way we apprehend them, what picture we have of them. That´s called person perception. The information that we get when we meet people, how they look, what they wear etc. we interpret from our memories, experiences and valuations that we have. And in that way we create a picture of that person. The persons with that special personality or style will remind us about the first person we've met. Some examples that I personally think are quite funny and “big”
are Americans, Englishmen and Frenchmen. Am I right if I told you that
I think your picture of Americans would be this following , fat, all
these hiphopstyles and they eat at McDonalds all the time? And your
opinion of Englishmen, don't they drink tea all the time? And not to
forget the French people, they don't leave their houses without their
beret and whenever you see them they will always carry their easel with
them, right? Most of us might think it's funny to say to a Swede, “Hey, where
have you left your Vikings?” or “ Excuse me American, did
you enjoy your Big Meal with extra everything for breakfast?”
or what about, “ Ey Frenchman, I think your beret is straight
instead of on the side.” But to sum up and to make you realize the meaning of it I'm going to
write like this : It doesn't matter who you are, where you are coming
from etc. you will always always always be placed in these person perceptions.
But no one has complained so far, have they? |
