So common let yourself be entertained!
Entertainments are the spice of our lives. I can hardly imagine mine without the movies on Sunday evenings, without the jokes of my friends or without the games I play in my spare time. Entertainments are amusing, diverting and interesting. They are a distraction, a respite from our daily business. What is more, entertainments are a source of energy. An hour spent watching funny movies or serials like ‘Malcom’ or ‘Friends’ gives me the stamina and the enthusiasm I need to carry on doing my homework or study for an exam, however boring this might be.
You don’t need a Robby Williams singing ‘Let me entertain you’ to feel ‘entertained’. There are hundreds of ways to do that-sports, media, friends, games.
Football-the most famous entertaining sport on earth
People are different and have different tastes for entertainment. This depends on their age, upbringing or their type of character. For me doing jigsaw or crosswords is not the kind of activity I can define as big fun, but if you ask my grandmother, for example, she would surely say that “Jig saws, crosswords and sudokus are the most amusing things on earth and are the greatest inventions of humankind”. However, it doesn’t matter what your favourite entertainment is, for the result is always the same-it makes you feel better.
Sports exercise our bodies and are a good diversion from our hectic days
Entertainments are also the most painless way to learn new things. Watching educational programmes like ‘Animal planet’; ‘Discovery’; ‘National Geographic’ and a few other programmes is my favourite way to entertain myself and at the same time learn something new about the little funny meerkats, science and technology or the second world war for instance.
Watching TV is educational You can learn a lot from
only when you watch the a good book and entertain
right programmes. Cartoon yourself at the same time
doesn’t count! Sorry!
I consider this way of studying even better than just reading from the textbooks for it gives more than written text and a few pictures. I can see and hear how an animal behaves in its wild environment; how people fought to defend their countries, etc. You can’t get a very clear idea about such things just from a picture and an explanation in your textbooks, can you?
No matter how old you are or what kind of person you are, you like entertainments. So, let yourself be entertained! Let yourself have fun, distract yourself from your work, increase your knowledge painlessly and feel better because of it!
