A Night at the Opera

One of the most important theaters in the world is "la Scala" in Milano. It is probably the maximum stage in Europa

for the classical music, the dance and the opera show.

Since it was built, in 1776 designed by the Neoclassical Italian architect Giuseppe Piermarini, it was considered

the best theatre in Italy and still today many people go to watch the operas, concerts.

Nowadays there are also presented Giuseppe Verdi’s "Aida" that right two weeks ago opened season of 2006/07,

and some classical dance masterpieces like "The Nutcracker" or "The swans Lake". In the second half of the

season the local orchestra starts to program performing classical music concerts too, like the Beethoven’s

symphonies.

Every year La Scala calls thousand people to see show and every premiere is an event for the people, infact lots of

them wait for hours and hours in the cue to buy the tickets and the traffic in the city centre is completely blocked.

For about four years La Scala was closed for restoration, after that it is the biggest and the most fascinable

theatre in the world, any way the tradition wants only classical music played there.
