Film

Have you ever wondered if an animal can get affected by film? Or what films will be like in the future. Or what film really is. This article gives answers to this and much more.

What exactly is film?
Film is still pictures displayed in rapid succession which creates an illusion for the eyes that there is motion. Thereby the name 'Motion Picture'. Going further, the pictures are only registered light with different frequencies. Later the light will be sent out to your eyes by e.g. the TV.

What will film be like in the future?
In near future there will be sharper sound and picture and better special effects. In a more distant future almost everything will be made with computers. The film will be 3D and needs 3D-projectors to work. You will be able to move around the projector and see the film from every direction.

Do film differ in different cultures? Do they have a cultural value?
According to Wikipedia films are cultural artefacts created by specific cultures, which reflect those cultures, and, in turn affect them. Some even say it is one of the most important art forms. African, Asian, European and Swedish film all differ. The way the film is directed and the story, characters and setting. Everything differs. Film is an easy way to get knowledge and you may understand other cultures better by watching films.

  Is sound important in film?
Sound is extremely important. Voices, noises and music all add up to make a certain mood. Without sound film would not be nearly as intense and exciting as with it.

Why can film affect us when it's only fiction?
It's because you sympathize with the characters, you imagine yourself in their shoes. When the 'hero' is sad you get sad and when he's glad you get glad.

I am a huge film fan and people often ask me which film is the best I've seen. It's hard to name just one but my top 5 is as follows: (not in any specific order)
Pulp Fiction
The Good, The Bad & The Ugly
The Usual Suspects
The Shawshank Redemption
The Godfather Trilogi (together they are so great!)
I recommend all of them for you to see.
