Playing the violin
There can be many reasons why you should play the violin. It can be just for fun, you don't put so much time in practising. Or it could be that you love it and really want to be good and you want to work as a violinist. Then there is one reason that you only play because your parents or friends wants you to do it. When you don't play for your own sake, it isn't fun either.
The Suzuki method is one way that you
can learn how to play the violin.
It involves that you don't read any notes,
instead you learn through listening and imitating. If you start with this method at
an early stage, when you are little it is easy that you develop absolute pitch.
But if you in order to develop this you have to to practise very often.
There are among others two orchestras ÖUS and ÖMS) in Örnsköldsvik that include violin playing. ÖUS -Örnsköldsviks
Youth Symphony which focus on young
people, 13- 19 years old. ÖMS- Örnsköldsviks Music Society focus on people A violin.
who are everything between 17-100 years old.
Sometimes a Swedish celebrity comes to appear as a guest, singing or playing at ÖMS.

An interview with a violinist from Örnsköldsvik
How and when did you start playing?
I started when I was five years old with the suzuki method. When I was about 15 years old I stopped with the suzuki metoth and started learning notes. That was very good for me. Since I had started in ÖUS ,where you played by notes, I just had to learn. Also I felt that I wanted to develop and learn other things.
Why do you play?
It is fun and I can express my feelings in an other way than talking. It is also a challenge to learn new things.
How often do you practise?
About 4-5 times a week. Then I play 30 to 60 minutes each time.
