The Ambiguous Meaning of Success

Nowadays fast-developing countries are in a rush to make progress without caring about the future of the mankind. Communication and relationships are neglected for the sake of wealth creation. Unfortunately, while powerul countries become more and more affluent, the economy of the small ones declines. In short : ‘One man’s meat is another man’s poison’.

First of all, financial and political problems have bad influence on young people’s lives and professional realization. The governments of small countries do not invest in education and a lot of students are compelled to emigrate in order to do well in life. But it is not always a guarantee for success because most of the times they are treated unfairly by native people. They lose confidence in their own abilities and feel like outsiders. All these are sources of negative emotions. Being away from families and friends provokes feelings of homesickness and sadness. On the contrary, this disregard inspires them to work harder and develop their skills in order to return to their countries and devote their knowledge and efforts to make them better places for living for the next generations.

What is more, big countries are sceptical about the potential of not so prosperous societies for political and industrial development. For example, when foreigners visit Bulgaria they are surprised by its beautiful nature. The variety of resources gives opportunities for improvements and high achievements in all types of industry. Furthermore, the overwhelming landscape including mountains, plains, rivers, sea provides entertainment which can satisfy everyone’s taste. The glorious history of our ancestors is revealed by a lot of monuments, museums, historical buildings, monasteries. The typical Bulgarian traditions and holidays interest foreign visitors and they are impressed by the unique culture of this small, but beautiful piece of land.

Hectic days often prevent us from finding free time to think about what is worth living or working for. People are too busy earning a living and ignore the mere human need for justice and empathy. No one has the right to build over ruins. We should never forget it and do our best to eliminate national or class differences and lay the foundations of one united and affluent society.
