“A relationship is a specific connection between objects, entities or concepts. Typical forms of relationship are social relationships between people…” (Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)
Ever since the baby’s first deep breath his relationships with others begin. Strangely, at this moment he does not even realize that soon afterwards he is going to have to deal with a great number of other human beings, each one of them having a unique personality – his Mum and Dad, the other members of his family, his friends and classmates, and so on. He is going to like some of them, dislike others, respect some and mistreat others, and thus create his own project titled ‘Successful living in society’. That is the case with everyone. Having relationships with people around us is an integral part of our lives, it does not matter whether we like it or not. Since we were born to live among others, we all somehow face the challenge of having relationships with them. Of course, winning every challenge needs a suitable strategy – for some this could be peace, tolerance, respect and kindness, whereas others prefer the means of war, egoism, aggression, even cruelty. We are all different, so this undoubtedly is a matter of personal choice and life philosophy. The point is, when making this essential decision, to consider its consequences. If all people chose the selfish, violent and cruel attitude towards people, this would for certain result in unsuccessful relationships, which cause destruction, hatred, lack of justice… - things, all of which result in separating people. But relationship does not mean creating boundaries – it implies making a connection, a ‘specific connection’. This connection between people, based on the principles of love and respect requires a lot more will and constant effort in order to be preserved, but it inevitably is the vital element that fills our lives with joy and satisfaction – which is something all people deserve and have the right to feel.
