In order to build a good relationship to other people you first of all need to have a good relationship to yourself. To feel good and be in good health is one of the most important things in life, no matter who you are. One way to feel good is to have strong self-esteem and to know who you are and take responsibility for what you do, whitout being controlled by anyone else. What you do and what you think is based on who you are. All this underlie when we meet other people and make decisions in life. Good self-esteem increases the possibility to control your life. Self-esteem is something that everyone has, either good or bad. They say that self-esteem is the glasses you see your self through. You have made it far if you are unsure of yourself, and not afraid to show it, because then you know that you are good enough despite faults and weaknesses. The picture we have of ourselves is formed by other people and the society. The most common reasons for a lower self-esteem are all kinds of criticism, complaints and failures. To influence on the self-esteem is in other words not the easiest to do, but the way we see ourselves is a big part of it. It is not just bad things that influence it, but also all the good things you do and like. We often feel good when other people show us their appreciation and when we are well-liked.
