Free Tibet

Tibet, an independent nation with a history
dating back to 127 BC, was invaded 45 years ago, in 1950, by the Chinese People's
Republic.
The invasion and occupation of Tibet has been an act of aggression and a clear violation
of international law. Today Tibet is oppressed by a Chinese occupation, illegal and
repressive.
The Dalai Lama, head of state and spiritual leader of Tibet, a firm apostle of
non-violence, has tried for eight years to coexist peacefully with the Chinese, but the
systematic conquest of the territory of Tibet and its people to be part of China has
caused repeated acts of repression. On 10 March 1959, the Tibetan resistance culminated in
a national uprising against the Chinese. The Liberation Army (sic!) Chinese has crushed
the uprising, killing on that date more than 87,000 Tibetans in Tibet only Central.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama, members of his government and about 80,000 Tibetans fled from
Tibet and sought political asylum in India, Nepal and Bhutan.
Today there are more than 120,000 Tibetans in exile, including more than 5,000 who live
outside the Indian subcontinent.
To escape persecution Chinese from Tibet continue to get many Tibetan refugees.
The United Nations has adopted three resolutions on Tibet in 1959, 1961 in 1965, which
have expressed serious concern about the violation of human rights and have called for
"the cessation of practices which deprive the Tibetan people of their fundamental
human rights and freedom, including their right to self-determination ".
FACTS AND FIGURES FROM THE SITUATION IN TIBET
1. One million two hundred thousand Tibetans (one fifth of the population) have died as a
result of Chinese.
2. Thousands of religious and political prisoners are detained in prisons and labor camps,
where torture is common practice.
3. The Tibetan women are subjected to forced sterilization and abortions procured. .
Tibet, once peaceful buffer state between India and China, has been transformed into a
vast military base, which is home to no less than 500,000 Chinese soldiers, and a quarter
of Chinese nuclear missile force, in total assessed 550 nuclear warheads.
7. More than six thousand monasteries, temples and historic buildings were razziati and
razed to the ground and their ancient and irreplaceable works of art and literature
treasures were destroyed or sold by the Chinese during the 'democratic reforms' before
1966, and the remaining during the Cultural Revolution, according to the Chinese
authorities
8. The China Tibet prohibits the 'teaching and the study of Buddhism. Today's appearance
of religious freedom was opened only for propaganda purposes and for tourism.
9. Monks and nuns continue to be expelled from monasteries.
10. The natural resources of Tibet and its fragile ecology are being irreparably destroyed
as a result of invasion Chinese. The wild animals were almost exterminated, forests cut
down and the ground has been eroded and impoverished.
Deforestation Tibet proceed without pause since 1963 24 to 24 hours.
Now that you have read this brief summary if you have a minimum sensitivity and humanity
makes a small effort in some way help this stock could riappropriare of their human
rights, with a simple gesture, perhaps appendendo the flag of this country sacred to your
window. If we all understand our disapproval, the powers will help us to give an end to
this horrible persecution.
I think that is a country that all of us citizens of this world we must defend, because
unlike all of us know peace and respect for life and the world.
Do not forget that the Tibetan people are a pacifist
Do not forget that for years the Tibetans suffer torture
Do not forget that true civilization we reached with human rights
Do not forget that we are in 2008 and there is still this gratuitous violence
