My Favourite Writer: Federico Moccia

Federico Moccia (Rome, 10 November 1963) is an Italian writer, scriptwriter and director, author of novels that draws a lot of success among the young. In 1992 he wrote his first book, the novel “three metres above the sky”, at first he had trouble finding a publishing house who was willing to publish his book, but after the boom of spread between Roman’s schools the novel has been sold in all countries of Europe and even in Japan and Brazil. In 2006 he published his second novel “I feel like you” sequel of three metres above the sky, this novel became a film too, with actors Riccardo Scamarcio and Laura Chiatti. The film in question gets a great success with the public so that its protagonist becomes the idol of teenagers. In 2007 in bookstores came out “Sorry, but I call you love” even from his last book was a tract movie has grossed over 4 million euros. The novel tells the love story between two young people from different social class: Babi Gervasi a rich and beautiful student, and Step, or Stefano Mancini, a rebellious, violent and irascible boy.
The sequel of “three metres above the sky” tells about the return of Step from New York, where he had gone after the break with Baby. After his returns in Rome he meets another girl: Gin which falls in love with and whom he had an intense love story.
The novel tells the love story between Niky and Alessandro: she is a seventeen-year-old student and he is an advertiser of thirty-seven years old. And despite of the age difference between them, they built a beautiful love story.
I personally read all three books and I saw all three films, he is my favourite writer and I think that many young people who would never open a book, thanks to him have discovered the pleasure of reading.
