STAGE
Stage is a work experience in a company, it can last for different periods of time (sometimes its about a week or two, or a month, it depends on the agreements
within the parts: company/trainee or association-school that promote stage), the purpose of stage is to train somebody who hasnt had any work experience yet.
During the stage the trainee has a tutor that follows him and usually he/she is a person that has a permanent job in the company, he/she shows/explains all the things
the trainee has to do during the every day timetable in which trainee is available for company.
Last year I applied for the stage organized by my teacher of math, I spent a week in a company, while this year Im going to spend two weeks in a bank.
Ive just spent the first week in this bank, in which Ive had the first approach not only with colleagues but also with the boss, the location, and the various skills
required to work within this job.
All the person I have had occasion to work with, had given me the impression to know very well their tasks and more, they show me that it isnt enough what we
learn at school, but also that the majority of knowledge is that you acquire working every day with people and colleagues.
In this situation, if a colleague is not at work, the others can substitute him until he/she comes back to work.
This experience has open my eyes on the world of work, even if it wasnt a real work because I wasnt an employee of the company.
I believe that work-experience is one of the most beautiful experience during the school carrier, it lets me understand how is different the school reality from the
work one, when youre at work you must be professional, responsible, accurate in all what you have to do.
You also show some aspects of your character, as kindness, patience, because not always customers are very kind, but the most of times they pretend with
arrogance to have what they want.
In the end, Ive always thought that in every work there were rules more or less important, in which there is more or less responsibility, but Ive understood that
everyone has the same responsibility, it doesnt exist a role with more or less importance, everyone has his/her importance that doesnt have to be underestimated.
So I advice everyone to do a work-experience, not only because it teaches many things, but also because it prepares you to, what sooner or later, you will have to
do.
