Idol is a very popular tv-programme here in Sweden and also in many other countries. Almost everybody talks about it and has an opinion about it. Like the newspapers that write a lot about Idol. But why is it really so popular? What makes Idol one of the biggest entertainment programmes in Sweden? There are lots of things that makes Idol so popular and fun to watch. Some people love to see all the persons who make a fool of themselves, the ones who can't sing but think they can. Other people loves to see the good ones, they who make it to the finals and really can sing. Or maybe you think it is the judges or the hosts that make the programme. In Sweden we had two very funny hosts last season, Carina Berg and Carolina Gynning. They were very good together and did things you really had to laugh at. Since that they were only hosting the audition tour. In the finals the host was Peter Jihde. He is known here in Sweden from sports programmes, so it was different to see him in an entertainment show. In spite of that he did a good job in Idol as well. Finally back to the question: why is Idol so popular? I think the answer is a mix of everything, the people who make a fool of themselves, the good singers, the judges and the hosts.
