Thin girls with unnatural perfect looks, girls with perfect bodies and skin. There are todays ideals of a women, which we almost daily see in media, and it actually affect us more than we maybe know. Teenage girls and young women are probably the group in society who are most influenced by todays ideal of a woman, which is thinner then ever. If you look at todays super models all of them are unnatural thin and in a lot of cases you can see the girls bones, this girls cannot have healthy eating habits. If you also look at for example music videos at MTV there is a lot of almost naked girls with perfect bodies and big breasts. This look is actually described as normal, but it´s not. There are almost never healthy girls in media, even if a majority of the worlds women looks like that. Because of the longing for this unnatural looks a lot of young women have complex for their bodies, even if they already are gorgeous. Todays ideal of a woman is actually not healthy and it can lead to anorexia for example, witch is an very dangerous disease. Because of these ideals a lot of people, often young women, are depressed and they maybe feels like they are not beautiful enough. If you compare with ideals before, maybe 50 years ago, you can both see differences and similarity. The ideals before were also fairly thin girls, but not that extreme as today, and it was not common to be almost naked in music videos and publicity. Both women and men are today more dependence of a great look than before, now we colour our hair, we use a lot of makeup and some people undergoes operations. To summarize this subject, the ideals have changed to the worse and because of that a lot of people got problem with complexes and things like that. I think it´s just a matter of time before media understands that this kind of looks only exist in unhealthy lifestyles, and hopefully the way women should look like will change. What do you think?
