Green Day

On the 20th of October a special event concerning our environment took place in our school. It was called ‘Green Day’.
The question of the event was: What can we do to protect nature and how are we able to reduce environmental damage to a minimum?
A lot of classes came up with different projects. One class for example read several poems about nature, another class prepared a healthy and biological breakfast, which was served in a break.
My class planted an apple tree on the school campus. It seemed like a little celebration, because a lot of students came to watch the procedure. But most important was that the environmental minister Tanja Gönner helped planting the tree. It seemed as if this was not the first tree she planted in her career, because she did her job skillfully.
All in all Green Day has been a very successful project and most of the students committed and had fun, too. They also learned that regard for nature is an essential part of our future.
