Dear Markus,
In your article „Green Drivers“ you describe the situation
of ecological driving today. You talk about the positive aspects of
using ethanol running vehicles instead of normal petrol using cars.
But, in fact, the process of getting ethanol is more ecologically
harmful because the planting of sugarcanes causes the destruction
of millions of square kilometres of tropical rain forest.
It is good to care about the envrionment, but we think that people
should get more information about what they think is good, because
it could actually be not as good as they think. Ethanol is a good
start, but as we`ve seen, there are also negative aspects fort he
envrionment. A good possibility would be to find alternatives for
driving a car, such as taking the bus or riding a bike as often as
possible and get more and deeper information about the negative effects
which a so-called solution for the environmental problems could maybe
have.
