Sustainable development

There was a time when people believed that Global Warming was a myth, a fabrication of over-zealous scientists and the media giants. These days are dying.

Although we may not know all of the reasons and all of the problems that Global Warming causes, Mother Nature’s cry for help is plaintive. Now may be our last chance to wake up from our slumber and to open our eyes to the horrors we have wrought upon her. Rising sea-levels, global warming, wildfires across the globe; indications of nature’s peril.

Sustainable development now plays a critical role in the rescue of our planet. If we are responsible and truly care about our world then we will be able to bring ourselves back from the brink, reshape our future before we lose our present to the greed which has led us to this juncture in History.

All sustainable development needs to be successful is a change in ideals, a shifting of perspective to show us that our old values of working for oneself, and acting in our own interests simply will not allow us to survive; we need a drive to do what is right, not what is convenient, to work for our health and not for our bank-statements. If we can cast aside the petty differences which divide our interests, then we have a real chance to make a difference, to develop sustainably.
