GEO means EARTH
And THERMOS means HEAT
Geothermal power is heat from bowles of the earth.
- Where can you find it?
The first geothermal power plant was in Lardello , it’s a big area in Tuscany in central Italy.
The largest group of geothermal power plants in the world is The Geysers. They’re near California.
The countries where the geothermal energy is most used are El Salvador, Kenya, the Philippines, Iceland and Costa Rica.
- How it's used:
There are two sorts of the uses from geothermal power. They are called direct and indirect usage.
- direct usage
Only the heat is used.
e.g.: evaporating from water to get salt; for floor heating, also for cooling.


- indirect usage
Heat is turned into electricity.

Conclusion:
In our opinion geothermal power isn’t really suitable, because first you have to put a lot of energy in, before you get new energy.
