FUTURE BASKET
My favourite sport is basket ball and I have been playing it since I was a child. I think that it is a really interesting and binding sport. Dr. James Naismith is the inventor of basketball and he needed a game that could be played indoors in a relatively small space. He made rules for the game then.
Infact it is a very complex sport and with a lot of rules to respect: a player cannot run with the ball. The player must throw it from the spot on which he catches it, allowance to be made for a man running at good speed.
The ball must be held in or between the hands. The arms or body must not be used for holding it.
No shouldering, holding, pushing, striking or tripping in any way of an opponent. Every year new rules and schemes of game are introduced. However having fun is the first thing that a individual should acquire before even trying to play basketball.
In the last years a new sport has been introduced similar to the basket. This sport is called slamball and it has been invented by Mason Gordon in 2000.
Slam Ball is a new sport combining basketball, hockey ,and gymnastics into one indoor competition.
This sport is similar to basket but the players must jump on some elastic carpets to make basket’s points. Players dribble a standard basketball (coloured black and red) up and down the court and attempt to shoot the ball into a standard basketball net. Alternatively, a player may slam the ball, by jumping off one of the four trampolines under the basket. Players often perform wild aerobatics, not only for showmanship but for strategic maneuvering. This is the main attraction (and selling point) to Slam Ball. The trampolines are built into the special court. The court is surrounded by hockey style plexiglass that extends upward nearly twenty feet.
So, the particularity of this sport is that it is played on a field similar to that one of the basket, but with the addition of four carpets elastic places under every basket.
The game is composed from four times of six minutes every, with change of field to departed half, the players in attack have available 15 seconds to mark.
In field there are 4 players and each of these had a one defined role.
There are:
1) Stopper (it is under basket, it is the defender)
2) Gunner (the attackers)
3) Handler (the director)
I think that in the future the basket will have a progressive evolution and new ways an rules will be invented for playing this special game.
