Family life through times |
More and more people choose not to get a family, and it´s a drastic change compared to the old days. It is a thing that will keep changing with time and evolution. The choice not to get a family is not the only thing that has changed, through time marriage has changed. So in this following report the readers will get the chance to read about family life in the past, in the present and how the future possibly will turn out. In the past it was very common to have big families because the children could help with chores around the house and farm. But as time went by society changed, and the need of a big family wasn't important anymore because of better conditions. You could now manage with 4-5 kids instead of 10-12 kids. Having kids early was a fact and so was getting married. Usually people got married and had children before they turned 18 and most of the relationships lasted. If you didn't get married you often turned up working as a maid. In society of today people aren't in need of children as they used to be. You don't have a farm with cows and agriculture. Most families only have 2-3 children which they usually get after the age of 25-30. Some people don't get kids at all, instead they may get a dog or cat just to have something to pet and feed. Instead they focus on their careers or travel around the world. Marriage isn't as common as it used to be. People don’t look down on you if you are a single mother. Only one out of three marriages lasts. It’s hard to say what it’ll be like in the future, but we will definitely see a change when it comes to family life. We think it well keep on developing in the same direction as in the past. Which means that there’ll be less normal to have a lot of children, more people might choose adoption instead of having biological children. One reason for this could be because they are so obsessed with the body ideals that they don’t want to ruin their bodies by giving birth. Another reason could be because of over population so people adopt to save children in the developing countries. The government might even give contributions to those who choose to adopt. There will probably also be less people getting married, more choose to focus on their career and women will be even more independent.
