School Life In England
My name is Lara Paterson. I am seventeen years old and I go to school in a place called Malpas - England. My school is called Bishop Heber High School , it is a comprehensive school for boys and girls there are a thousand pupils that attend the school.
I am in the sixth form which is for pupils aged between 16 - 18 years old. School starts at nine o'clock. Students get to school by bus or car, in England you can drive at the age of seventeen a great deal of pupils do drive. Lessons start at ten past nine there are usually five lessons a day; each lesson lasts nearly one hour. In the sixth form we do not usually have five lessons a day. I usually have three or four lessons and when I don't have one I stay in the sixth form common room for study periods. The common room is a place just for the sixth form where we socialise, play music and study. You have a lot more time in the sixth form to do homework or study. The sixth form is a two year course. Most people study three subjects and general studies. We also have enrichment courses which are extra things to do like learning a language - we do have a language college in the school which is a great asset. We do not really have a uniform in the sixth form it is more of a dress code certain colours. We have exams in the second year of the two year course. The exams take place between May and June, I do mine next year.
