 ReqvisitaReqvisita is a Youth Activities Group. We belong to Örnsköldsvik Riksteaterförening, Folkan. Reqvisita arranges culture events for youth, that means art, theatre and music. We get together usually once a week,and we plan our arrangements and think about comming. We've about 1-3 arrangements in the autumn and about 2-4 in spring. Now we are twelve members, we are between 15 and 19 years old. In Reqvesita all personalities are accepted and welcomed. In order to get money we are trying to get contributions from the municipality, different funds and so on.The next arrangements is a Lucia vaka. Lucia is an old Swedish tradition that happens 13 December each year. The latest arrangement was an party this atumn when four different bands from other cityies played live at Musikhuset. (Musikhuset is a place there many people from Örnsköldsvik who are interested in music rehearse. You can also go there to listen to concerts.) Other arrangements are a play by August Strindberg called Ett Drömspel. Last year we also had a Lucia vaka. It was a great success so we are going to do that again this year. UKM - youth culture patterns. It a competition that covers the whole nation. You stand on a stage and you may do what ever you want as long it has to do with culture. The competion is for youths between 13 and 24. First you compete against other people that are from the same municipality as yourself. If you win you can go further to the administrative province pattern and from there to the pattern for the whole country. If you win there you can come to the Nordic pattern. Reqvesita is the only youth group that have ever arranged UKM. In others cities it has always been arranged by grownups. We have a great deal of fun when we make these arrangements and when Reqvisita get together everything is possible. Du you have something like this in your city?
