Bodily obsession is most common in the young female generation, but there are many boys who think about how they look too. Media wants us to look a certain way, but is this right?
The most popular TV-series is about a crowd of silicone distended 20- year olds in swimsuits who pulls people out of the water. Media drowns in naked breasts, inward-bounding stomachs, long legs and solid butts. And weekly publications seems to never get tired of trying to make us loose weight nor daub us in cucumber masks and eyegel.
The women of the nineties have access to more power, influence and money than any other earlier female generation.
But the better things are, the harder the life get, because demands are so high.
The most common complexes
The most common complexes are the nose and the thighs. There is no real reason, it’s just that you worry about the little things too much. Often you want to have a scapegoat and then you blame the models. You think that you should look like a model. But can you always blame them and are your friends’ opinions so important all the time? As a matter of fact there is something called "YOUR OWN WILL".
Plastic surgery
Plastic surgeries have increased duing the last years. The fashion steps down in ages, especially in the USA where 60% of the patients, doing plastic surgery, are women between 15- 30 years old. In Sweden there is not such a noticed increase. If you are under 18 years old, it is only if you have extreme damages they will operate. For example extroverted ears.
In Sweden 30% of the operations are made on women between 18- 29 years old. Why it’s mostly younger people is because they are more open and free than the older generation.
Sideeffects exit even in this "world", for example big
scar formation, infections and bleedings.
But does anyone write about this?
No, it’s only the glamour which is seen and written about.
Wouldn’t you like to know about all the dangers and risks before you have an operation? We should demand better information about this!

Our world is controlled by our looks, is that right?

(This picture is taken out of a weekly publication called "Vecko Revyn".)
No waist, a stomach that sticks out, flabby, fat thighs, burstings, hanging breast, different sizes.
This is the way we look at ourselves.

The black spots show what the nose looked like before the plastic surgery. Did it get so much better than it was?
